The Grand Canyon State

Our offseason just flew by. Before we knew it, we were back in Surprise, Arizona for Spring Training. We welcomed the break as we were totally tired of the whole moving process. Out here all we have to focus is work, sleep, TV and figuring out where to go for dinner. No unpacking, hanging things on the walls, cleaning or anything house related. Thank goodness!

Our first day at the park. It has really been great weather everyday.
This is the view from my office. Nice huh?
We film a lot of commercials while we are out here and sometimes I have to be involved in getting people to/from the commercial.
The Rangers tweeted this picture. If you look close, you can see me in the top right. I look hard at work right?
Here was my view during the commerical. Fun stuff!
The City of Surprise Grounds Crew does a great job keeping the field looking great.

Happy Birthday Popa!

Two of my grandpas birthday are on the same day - President's Day. So following Fudge's birthday, we got to celebrate Popa's 83 at the Funny Farm. Most of my family was able to come in for it. It is so fun when we all get together. Lots of craziness and laughter!

Popa and his favorite girls!
Lindy, Mom, and Uncle Sonny and I are getting some quality time with the birthday boy.
I love my Caden and hardly get to see him so I was super excited that he was coming. He was dodging my hugs all night until the very end. I made him stand still for a picture. It is so fun being his Aunt!
Popa also tried to turn his candles around to read 38 instead of 83 but we wouldn't let him.

Happy Birthday Fudge

My Fudge (grandpa) turned 94 on President's Day. I was so excited to be in town so I could celebrate his birthday with the family. After Granny Voe died, he is so lonely and really looks forward to family functions. He was so excited that we were all coming to his house to party!

Happy Birthday Fudge!

Woman ordered a cow cake for Fudge. It was SO GOOD and SO CUTE!
Blowing out his candles. He tried to turn the candles around so that they read 49 instead of 94.
Fudge will only play dominoes with John as John is the best in the family. He won't even attempt to play with me.
If you are ever in West, you have to eat the Pizza House. We love their pizza and order it for all occasions.

A Little Something Something

Kelly and I decided that our front yard needed a little something more than just your normal landscaping. We wanted to spice things up so we purchased a fountain. We have absolutely no idea what to do with the thing - we even let it freeze on the first night which is something that they warned us never to let happen. So after that we drained the water and decided we would fill it on special occasions only. It sure does look nice though!

The progression of the fountain
The picture on the left looks a little crooked - it is the photographer, not the fountain. It took us almost 2 hours to level that thing!

The New Kids on the Block

On December 23, we closed on our new home. On February 1, we moved in. It took that long to finish up and complete (or at least attempt to complete) our punch list. In the meantime, we took about 426 loads with our car/trailer and piled everything up in our garages. We will tackle that beast when we get home from Arizona. For now, we are content with parking in the drive way!

Signing our life away at the title company!
Troy wanted his picture taken the last night in our old house. He was really tired from all the moving!
This piece of furniture was the one we were most worried about. It took 4 grown men (Joel, Kasey, Matt and Kelly) to move it into our Arlington house. We for sure didn't think it would make it up the stairs. Guess we shouldn't have underestimated our movers. Look at them! They literally carried this up the stairs. Kelly and I were so impressed.
We hired movers for the big items only which was very few things as we bought a lot of new furniture and delivered straight to the new house.  It made moving a lot easier that way.

LiViNg On LoVe

Due to the whole moving fiasco, my blogs have been put on the back burner. My goal while in Spring Training is to get it updated because I know you all have been missing stories about my extremely exciting life. Ha!

Friday, January 27
Kelly has been really wanting to see Alan Jackson so for Christmas, Santa brought him two tickets to his show at Winstar. Joel and Ashley went with us so Joel and Kelly could get in some gambling before we left for Arizona. Little do they know that I secretly like to play too! I only like Roulette and Craps. The other stuff is way to complicated for me. I even convinced Ash to sit and play roulette with me for awhile.

While walking in the show, Ashley and I were handed two front row tickets. The man handing them out didn't want to give two more for our men. Apparently Alan likes only ladies in the front! Ashley sacrificed her ticket for Kelly so we were able to get up close and personal with Alan. Kelly was the only man on the front row which I think he secretly enjoyed!

It was a great show until about half way in. The man directly behind Kelly decided to have a heart attack during the show. People were screaming, his wife was crying and Alan stopped the show. The man was not coming to and we both thought we just witnessed our first death. Literally, he was not moving, breathing, anything! Some guy ripped open his shirt and started CPR. They were beating his chest trying to get him some air. After about what seemed like 15 minutes, the paramedics finally came in and were able to revive him. It was totally scary and pretty much ruined the show. Now everytime we hear an Alan Jackson song, that is all we can think about! (note to self: never have a heart attack at Winstar in Oklahoma as you will most likely die while waiting for them).

Kelly totally let his beard grow out over the off-season. He was totally rocking it at Alan Jackson.
It was a really laid back show. Similar to a George Strait concert.
This makes it look like we weren't on the front row but people rushed the stage and stood the whole time.

Alan looked so different without his facial hair!
