Off Day, Fun Day
Kelly and I had our first, last and only off-day of the Spring Training Season this past Tuesday. This off-day was like any one we had ever had - we relaxed! We woke up super later (me - 8am, Kelly - 9:30am) and went to breakfast.
Here is Kelly waiting in our car (nice rental this year!). Thanks Lyngos!
We had been wanting to try Matt's Big Breakfast after seeing it on DDD and decided today was the day! We were not disappointed. The 45 minute wait made us really hungry but we met some nice people who were Ranger fans so we didn't mind the wait. Once we were seated, we got served really fast. This place is delicious and might be my favorite over The Breakfast Club in Scottsdale.
We were so full after breakfast that we had to rest a little bit before we headed to the pool. Last Spring, we went to the pool all the time. Tuesday was the first time we had been there all year! We had a great time and stayed almost 3 hours! Don't worry, we went at 4:30pm so we didn't get any sun!

Rise and Shine
My mom got all the girls in my family this book for Christmas. We were so excited because we all know and love Joy and had been anxiously awaiting its arrival under the tree. Most of you know her as the hair stylist at my wedding but what you don't know is that she is crazy about the Lord, is a breast cancer survivor (twice!!!)with a double masectomy, a mother of three (she was preggos at my wedding with Eli), a wife and now an author.I waited until Spring Training to start this 40 day journey and am glad I did. I just wish the book was longer than 40 days! Her message everyday is perfect for what is going on in my life, my family's life and work. I encourage each of you to get a copy of this book. If you can't find it online at Amazon, let me know and my mom will get you one.
Below is the cover spread out. If you look closely at the family picture, you will see that it was taken at my wedding close to the chapel. I love that my wedding made this wonderful devotional book!

Clouds of Heaven
I love Arizona. I have loved it way before I ever started spending Spring out here. My fascination with the Grand Canyon State dates back to my childhood. My Popa lived here (tempe) for years so it must be in my blood. My favorite thing about the great state of Arizona is the sunsets. While Texas has some gorgeous nights, you can't beat a sunset over the mountains. It is truly breathtaking.
Kelly and I have been so lucky to have a semi-mountain view from our 3rd floor apartment. I keep the windows open every night just to see what He has created for me. The two pictures below were taken from our balcony. They are not retouched in any way. The sky was just awesome! I took one photo right when I saw how amazing it was and waited a few minutes until I took the next. What a difference a few minutes makes. The colors are incredible. God is so good!
The shot below was taken with my cell phone. Not the most reliable or accurate camera but I loved how it turned out. A coworker of mine, Courtney, and I were taking pictures of this sunset and just couldn't believe how awesome it was. We sat on the balcony for a long time just admiring His work.

And Jesus said, I AM: and ye shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 14:62
