Part Time Housewife

Being a part time house wife leaves me lots of time to do whatever I want.  So I try to fill my time with random stuff like biking, watching football, hanging with my family, creating and baking things from pintrest, and not unpacking. Yes, I realize we have lived here 7 months and still have lots of boxes to unpackBUT I am waiting for offseason as Kelly will actually be home. Good excuse huh? At least our downstairs is totally unpacked and organized.

Below are some pics of just exactly how I fill my time...

Hudson was able to participate in the Chevy Kids Take the Field. He is such a green fly - baseball term - and loves his Rangers. He was a little nervous at first to do this but eventually warmed up. Here you can see Captain picking on Hudson while he waited for Napoli to come over.
Hudson's fan club! Molly did wake up in time to see Hudson take the field.
We have gone down to Waco for a couple of weekends to go dove hunting. Yes, I hunt and no, I haven't killed anything yet. I keep missing! I am determined to kill at least one dove this season.
I decided to start making all the yummy stuff I keep pinning from pintrest for the guys in the visiting clubhouse. So far I have made them Nieman Marcus bars, Snickerdoodle Nieman Marcus bars, Cinnamon French Toast  bake (Kelly just called to say I better make it again tomorrow as he had some requests!), Whoopie Pies, Sausage Balls, cookies, and butterscotch brownies. I plan on making more on this rainy day. The visiting teams eat way too good over there!
I was able to spend the day with the Marable's during Molly's surgery. She is the sweetest little thing and I am happy I could be there for them (and to play with EK!).
I got inspired to decorate for fall. Thanks Hobby Lobby and all your goodness! I even made a pinecone garland for my mantle. The pinecones smell like cinnamon too. Yea for fall!

Party with the Fam

Saturday night we had Kelly's birthday with his parents...and his siblings! We weren't supposed to know Kasey, Kevin and Whitney were coming but a little birdie - or 2 big birdies - told me. It was a good surprise! Rarely do we have a Terrell Family Dinner and it was so nice to celebrate Kelly's birthday with everyone.
Kelly's younger brothers - Kasey and Kevin
I realize that this looks like eggs with a nice side of seaweed or grass...trust me, i wouldn't order that combo. This was sea bass with a side of spinach something or other and potatoes au gratin. Much tastier than it looked.
Whit & Kasey with their dessert souffles.
My camera was a little slow on capturing Kelly blowing out his candle so I made him do it again. He is a good sport! His mom posed perfectly.
Glenn and I were also at the dinner but didn't quite make it into any pictures :)

My birthday boy

I love birthdays. I love the planning, the surprises, and making the birthday guy or gal feel special. So for Kelly, I plan and plan because I always try to make it the biggest and best. He thinks I go a little overboard but I can't help it. I love to spoil him!!

I created a happy birthday itinerary for his special day. We kicked it off by opening gifts and being lazy....our day started earlier than expected as we both woke up at a ridiculous hour! Our house typically rises after 9:30am (and that is me getting up in the 9am hour, Kelly is a 10 o'clock kind of guy) so getting up at 7am is just nuts for us. Go ahead and judge us...we like to sleep late!

We had lunch at The Oceanaire. We thought the tray of veggies that came out with the bread was so funny! Turns out it is a throwback to earlier years where you were served veggie trays at nice restaurants - they are keeping it retro. We had a great meal and the server even gave us a HUGE piece of key lime pie for dessert and Kelly's birthday.
Following The Oceanaire, I took Kelly to the spa to get a nice, long massage. He has been needing one for quite a while so he was really excited for this gift.

Next, I surprised him by having a limo pick us up at the house to take us out in Dallas. We don't normally roll large, but we live so far out now and safety never takes a vacation!
So excited!
We started our night at The Cedars Social in Dallas. Way cool, funky little place owned by a former - Packers - linebacker. It would have been cooler if he was a Cowboy!
Then we went to Nick & Sam's for his big birthday dinner. He had never been here and was excited to go. He said that this was the best steak of his life. Everyone should get the Chateau Briand steak. We licked our plates...well not literally, we were at Nick & Sam's afterall.
We had the pineapple upside down cake bread pudding for dessert. It rocked our faces...I just can't explain how good it was.
I can't tell you how nice it was not to have to drive home. We jammed to tunes, sang loud and had a great time! I think our driver loved us. Ha!

Happy Birthday to Y'all

We had a big family birthday celebration weekend during opening dove hunting weekend. We literally killed two birds with one stone. Corny joke but totally appropriate! We celebrated Big Paul, Shelby, Mom and Kelly's birthday with a little BBQ and a whole lot of fun. Moma Duck made four birthday cake pies and we all chipped in making the dinner. Nothing like a little team effort to feed all 26 of us. The night ended with Carey & Jon staying up with Kelly and I on the back deck. We laughed and laughed...Bebe was sure to tell us the next morning how loud we were. OOPS!

 Happy Birthday to Big Paul!
Singing happy birthday to lots of special people!
Getting some loving from HOT Moma Duck
The birthday gang!
After dinner, the kids performed a rock concert for us. It was hysterical!
The next day, we went down to do some target shooting. We - including me - are all going to get our CHL soon and definately need some practice.

Hurry Up & Smile

Thought you might want to see a day in the life at the ballpark...

We recently had our annual photo day at the ballpark. I haven't joined in since I went part time but this year, I decided to be a part of the team. Mainly, I just like having a photo of Kelly and I...this one just happens to have a few extra people in it.
Can you spot Kelly?
- I took this from the Rangers instagram as we don't have the real thing yet.
Ash and Becky really do all the hard work for this. It is a HOT mess and takes about 30 minutes to set up for a 2 minute photo shoot.
Our team photographer, Brad Newton, tries to get us all to look at him at the same time. It is near impossible and we all squint b/c it is so dang bright.
This was my view of the chaos. Kelly set beside me (you can see his ear) so we could get our annual Ranger family photo.
