My last day of 32....

I am skipping over Nascar to dive straight into my birthday celebration....

Kelly decided to start my birthday early. He planned a whole day of fun for my last day of being 32. Love him and all his fun ideas!

Patrizio's just opened right by our house and he took me there for lunch. We of course had some bellini's to start with and then fabulous italian food. This is the best Patrizio's so far.

In between meals, Kelly took me to the Coldwater Creek Spa in Southlake. It was to die for. I have never had a pedicure this good. Kelly even got one too and fell asleep during his. It helped that they had you lying down in a bed while they did your pedicure. Amazing.

For dinner, we went to Truluck's. I had been wanting to go there forever and he finally took me. We started with the chilled seafood platter. Doesn't this look awesome?

Happy early Birthday to me!

Our little Halloween baby

My niece Ashton turned 14 this year and all she wanted was for the family to come to Granbury to have dinner with her. She is so sweet and I was so excited to celebrate yet another birthday with her. I have missed very few of her birthdays....some say she might be my favorite!

Bebe of course had to bring all the party supplies. Ashton wasn't embarrassed at all...probably because we were the only people in the restaurant.

I love a good reaction to gifts! She gets this totally from her mom.

Doesn't Ashton look excited to be celebrating her birthday with us? I felt so bad for the waitresses who had to clean up our table...it was awful!

The next day was Halloween. We were totally prepared for trick or treaters. In Arlington, they bused people in by the truck load so we were thought Trophy Club would be the same. Apparently not. Our 30 pounds of candy were barely touched....we only had 12 kids! It was so so sad. Guess nobody likes to come to gated communities.

Kelly & I dressed up as Cowboy fans. We were the only people wearing that costume....wonder why???

One of Kelly's birthday presents was to see Carrie Underwood at the AAC. He loves her. That is his favorite girl - other than me...I think! Hunter Hayes opened for her and he was so talented. We were excited that he won newcomer of the year (i think that is what it is called). He played every instrument and sang so good. Carrie literally blew us away. We were about 30 rows back from the stage on the floor which was as close as I was going to let Kelly sit. He does not need to see those legs up close! 

Fried Artichoke Hearts at Cane Rosso

We ate at Cane Rosso first. It was on the Food Network and D Mag said it was the best pizza in Dallas. I have to agree. We think it is tied with Grimaldi's and that is saying a lot. We definitely want to go back to this place especially since they have nights where you can bring in your own wine. FUN!

 Just make sure to feed your meter - we had a nice parking ticket waiting on us.

The day after the fair, we lost our Fudge. He was my last grandparent on my dad's side. He was the best! However he was just so sad after Granny Voe died that he has just been miserable since then. We are so happy they are reunited but so sad that he is gone.

The Farm is one of my favorite places in Texas.

They are both buried at the sweetest cemetery right by their house. A perfect place to lay to rest.

The Fried Fair of Texas

Kelly and I made our annual trek to the State Fried Fair of Texas. We pretty much just go to eat and see the cars. This year we stumbled upon a couple of cooking demonstrations that we cool...La Duni and Nick and Sam's. It was just like Food Network shows but you got to eat what they cooked!

Up next we had the fried jambalaya. We liked this alot!

Then we had the bacon cinnamon roll. We ranked this last on our list. The bacon was way too chewy.

My favorite thing at the fair is the roasted corn. We used to just share one cob but that didn't cut it. We have to get our  own.

We didn't eat again until the next day!
