Kelly and I spent a couple of days in canton shopping for the new house. Found lots of treasures and came home super tired. Starting offseason out right!

A little taste of fall

What a difference a week makes! Last week when we were in St Louis the trees had only a hint of color. When we arrived yesterday, their colors were on full display. The trees at the hotel are so pretty that I kept going out on my balcony to look at them. I also left the door open all day ...such good weather. Today is a different story - rainy and cold. I still love it though. How could you not after the summer we had!

Feeling RiTzY

I packed my bags and headed to the Gateway of the West - St Louis to watch the Rangers play in their second World Series. I could not be more thankful! The whole trip was such a better experience than San Fran. First we won a game! Second, nobody was threatened, spit on, or yelled at. Baseball in St Louis is a religion and it is refreshing to go to a town where you are treated nicely. The stadium was so pretty and staff was great. Would love to win all the games we play at home but definitely am ok with going back. Anyone want to stow away in my bags?

Kelly got on join me. Thanks Rangers for chartering a plane for the front office! We stayed in the Clayton area at the Ritz Carlton The staff at the Ritz was so nice. They even sent me flowers up to my room. Love! Kelly and I enjoyed a brief touring the city as we only had one day of walking weather. It felt like fall and was so nice to be outside. Love our red October!

Comerica Park

I really didn't know what to expect when we were driving the 5 minutes from our hotel to the park. I heard it was scary, that some guy was brutally beaten just trying to deliver something there, and more. So my anxiety level was just a tad high on our drive - the acne on my face says it all. That was until we got to Comerica. The surrounding restaurants and bars were all lit up just screaming for people to come in. Huge (fake) tigers and oversize baseball bats were at the entrance of the park welcoming the fans. People were everywhere. This wasn't scary at all! Actually, it was really nice!

 From the moment we stepped into the park, we were treated so nice. Ushers went out of their way for us. Fans welcomed us. They were encouraging us to go around town, eat at certain places and just wanted us to enjoy Detroit. You can tell they have been hit hard by the economy and want people to see Detroit how they see it and not how the rest of the country portrays it. Now this doesn't mean that I actually did what they said. I ventured out one day to the deli on the corner and was so scared when I entered that I immediately left and ran back to the safety of my hotel but I do appreciate people that love their city. (hello waco!!!)  The people we met are truly great ambassadors for Detroit.

While we might not have had the outcome we wanted, we had a great time at Comerica. They have a ferris wheel and a merry go round at the park. Both were so pretty but I only got a pic of the merry go round. Aretha Franklin sang the anthem during game 3 and the Four Tops for game 5. It was so cool! The games were super intense for us Rangers...note the nice close up of myself and some coworkers during the game where we were focused, not smiling, and intense. (those would be just some of the comments I received via text after we were shown on tv).

All in all, Detroit was an experience and I am blessed to have made the trip. Go Rangers!

The Motor City

The D. My temporary home for the next few days. Exciting? Working on it. A coworker who is from Detroit is from here and sent us a list of things we should do while here. I have been awake only a few hours due to another very late arrival and from what I have seen the D is.... ok. We were greeted last night by some very rowdy Lion fans who weren't the most welcoming. However everyone we have met today has been so friendly and even said that they think we are going to win. I love that you think that but come on! Where is your spirit Tiger Fans??? Root for your team!

Lafayette Coney Island was the first stop on our trip. I went with 2 cops and some coworkers so I was totally protected. It was a fun dive place. Definitely recommend. Next we took a walk along the river. It was fun looking at Canada! Lots of casinos everywhere. Cha Ching!

Hello Tampa...Again

Playoffs are officially here. It is so exciting yet tiring. Lots of late hours due to crazy travel times. Not only is this my room number at the Vinoy but it is also the time I got to my room! Don't get me wrong, flying on a charter -no matter what the time is - is the way to go so I am definately not complaining. Plus, I got to sleep all day today because we do not have a game. Go Rangers!
