Mr. & Mrs. Lance Armstrong

We had been talking about getting bikes ever since we moved up to TC. There are trails everywhere and we can ride down by the lake. So for our anniversary gift to each other, we bought some. It took us 4 stores to find the ones we liked but the Sun and Ski store in Grapevine had the most selection plus really smart bike guys working there. You also get your flat tires fixed for life!

Getting adjusted to his new bike.
Meet Betty. She is my bike and I love her. Kelly also bought me a matching purple water bottle...so fun!
After we picked out the bikes we liked, we took them for a spin in the parking lot. The store said we had to wear helmets so we got ones that matched our bikes...don't we look cool?
About to take the bikes our for our first ride.
It was a little hot so I tied a sock around my head (Joe Nathan style) to keep the sweat away. We are keeping in real up here in TC.
I am pretty proud of our first ride. It was so fun that we kept going and going and going! By the way, if you have a bike, you should download this app called Map My Ride. It is free and great!

Throwing them deuces up!

On May 29, Kelly and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary....at the ballpark. The Rangers had a game on our big day so we had to celebrate after. I like celebrating after....it makes for a fun week!

In order to see my man on our anniversary, I had to go to the clubhouse. So romantic...

We went to a nice dinner at Hannah's Off The Square in downtown Denton. Denton is getting to be really trendy with all their fun restaurants which we frequent often. Hannah's is delicious and I definately recommend it.

My blood orange martini paried nicely with the friend green beans. Ha! Not really but they were both super tasty. The green beans were served with a side of honey mustard tabasco...it was so good we asked for the recipe.
They had orchids which were in my bouquet. Perfect for our anniversary dinner.
We only allow ourselves to have dessert on special occasions. I went for the carrot cake. It was out of this world good.
Kelly had some sort of banana tart with mango ice cream. Kelly is a banana lover and crushed this.
My love

Where in the world have I been?

At the ballpark of course! I know I am slacking on the blog front but I have just been too busy - games, anniversary, house issues, etc. I have many blogs in the works so sorry for the upcoming blog beat down.

I took Mom and Paul to a game for their anniversary. Exciting gift, right?
My sweet grandma just loves the Rangers.
I had the privilege of taking my cousin, Lizzy, to her first game. She had a great time! Her soon-to-be-husband Tyler is a a newly hired Rangers employee. Yea for more family in the front office!

The Graduate

Today was Kellissa's graduation and the Terrell Family was in full force. We were loud and proud. She finally spotted us after she walked the stage. There were just too many people there! Kasey and Whitney got there an hour early and the closest seats were in the 3rd deck...these people mean business! Our seats did allow for good pics though. It was a really nice graduation and we are all so proud of Kellissa. She graduated from the IB program as well as National Honor Society. I am way too excited for her to go to college....decorating her dorm is in my near future!

We can't believe that she is graduating. What an exciting time ahead for her.

She finally found us!

Party time!

Kelly had to get back to the ballpark but we wanted a picture of him at the graduation.

Whitney is getting some love from Walker.

Cousins or sisters???

Mother's Day

My mom. I don't even know where to start. She has the biggest heart, best smile and faith beyond compare. She is a wonderful mom and deserves way more than John and I can ever give her. I don't know what John and I would do without her. She is the best!

After church, we went to the nursing/assisted living home to visit all of our loved ones. Most of them are under the same roof which makes visiting all that much easier. This is my Aunt Nita. She is my grandma's sister and always sings "I love the wienie man" at the family reunion. Love it and her. I promise she was excited to see us...she just wasn't happy we took her picture because she didn't like the way her hair looked.
We did lots of fishing. The fish were definately biting.
The boys took the paddle boat out...it has seen better days but does the job!
My muffin man. I heart him so much.

Old as Mold

May 6, 2012  11:10pm
Kelly: Did you spill something on the floor?
Me: What? No!
Kelly: Then why is it wet?
Me: I have no idea. Why would you think I spilled something???
Kelly is right. I spill lots of stuff but this time I was not guilty of spilling anything. Because I am a good wife, I went to clean up this mess and found water coming out from all sides of our island.
After some investigation on Kelly's part, we found some mold underneath our sink and a very warped cabinet. I immediately called our builder. He is #2 on my speed dial after Kelly. Help!

To the rescue!

The poor plumber had the fun job of removing the dishwasher.
Hello dishwasher. How I used to hate you. You never dried my dishes and you smelt.
Oh dishwasher, what did you do? You made my island into a holding tank of nasty water.
Wait...what? You weren't even installed right? The plumber never put the drain together. So every time we used the dishwasher, it drained into the island. Good thing we have an energy efficient machine that doesn't use a ton of water! He plugged the drain into the side air vent tube which explains why it wasn't drying.
This was underneath the dishwasher. A circle of mold and gross water. Boy, did it smell!
We thanked our builder for building us an indoor swimming pool. I told them the water is a nice green color and warm but they didn't want to come swimming. Party poopers.

May 9, 2012
Our kitchen is now quarantined off. It has been tested by a micro biologist for mold - as we have a ton growing under the island - and we have a dehumidifier and 2 industrial air purifier things running 24/7.

May 11, 2012   10:30pm

Our kitchen is officially drying up. No more smelly mold or water. Thank goodness!
Kelly and I are now in the process of clearing out the island as they are going to demo it and build us a new one. You may ask when we are going to have our house warming party? It is looking like Christmas time now!

Meet our newest pet....

We didn't want a pet. We really didn't. We aren't home enough and the pet would probably starve. But it wasn't up to us. She found us. She - a 4.5 foot long rat snake - has taken up residence in our and around our home. I found her early one morning curled up in our front porch window. At first, I thought it was a not so funny practical joke our builder was playing on us but she turned out to be very real. VERY. REAL. I screamed and screamed and she didn't care. She was staying put. We even called animal control Trophy Club PD to remove her but she wasn't having it. She threw a fit and crawled back in our wall .That is right! She is living in a weep hole in our wall. Aren't we lucky!?!

Meet Lucille.
Lucille needs to learn to use the restroom in the yard!
They came armed with a BB Gun and a machete. Lucky us!
